Has conservation of our environment gone astray since the last 20th century?

A question that everyone needs to ask themselves, before it is too late.

Environmentalism is a different way of thinking in which people try to care more about the
planet and the long-term survival of life on Earth. It means recognizing the planet's
environmental problems and coming up with solutions (individually and collectively) that try to
put them right.

We probably take pretty good care of the place we live in: we clean it, we keep it warm, we
carry out repairs when needed, we tidy the garden, we're nice to our neighbors and help them
when we can—generally speaking, we look after our home and its environment because our
home looks after us. Our planet, Earth, is just as much our home, but we don't look after it
anything like as well. We use its resources, we pollute it with trash, we plunder from our
neighbors (other animals and plants) without a care, and we give little or no thought to what
things will be like in the future, never mind what shape things will be in for our children.

Man started exploiting the resources of earth, from the very first footprint of his on this beautiful
planet. Earlier when the population was less the damage done was easily heeled by earth but now
the situation and time is different. Now the burden has grown so much that it cannot be mended
by earth on its own. We all need to take steps for that and when we save the word conservation;
we all need to mean it.

The earth has already started showing its frustration on us. The recent natural disaster in JAPAN
is an example that we all need to learn from. In the recent years there have been so many
episodes in which the earth showed its anger. The floods that came in Pakistan, the fire in forests
of USA and many earthquakes and tornados that has hit places, is an alarming bell.

There have been so many plans for restoration every now and then, but none are followed
seriously. We all take it for granted. Policies are made and kept in a corner but not implemented.
We as society have made so many rules and laws in past so many years but all has gone in vain.
Man has become so selfish and profit centric that he just thinks for his profit and nothing else. So
the policies, rules and laws made are mending to suit ones need, without taking into
consideration the after effect of it.

Its time before we get into deeper trouble, that we read these signs of danger. Its time for getting
back on track and save earth.
