INTRODUCTION

MOTIVATION
The term Motivation is taken from the Latin word movere which means “to move”.

To understand the concept of Motivation it is essential to know the meaning of-motive, motivating, motivation
and their relationship.

MOTIVE- A motive is an inner stage that energizes , activates, or moves , and that directs behavior towards
the goals.
 
MOTIVATING- Motivating implies one person [in the organizational context Manager]
  induces another [say employee] to engaged in action by ensuring that a channel to satisfy the motive
becomes available and accessible to the individual.
 
 MOTIVATION- When a motive is energizer of action, motivating is canalizations and
 activation of motive, motivation is the work behavior itself.
