New Technologies in

Fashion Industry.
Introduction
Fashionable Technology investigates the
relationship between technology, design, fashion,
materials & textiles in a theoretical and practical
framework

 It involves a discourse on the next generation

wearable, its history, its evolution, and its
present state
Function
 Allclothes have
social,
psychological and
physical functions
 The only new work
you can do in
fashion is via
technology

 It lets you create

something you
couldn't have done
in the past
Wearable computing
A wearable computer is a
computer that is subsumed
into the personal space of
the user

It is controlled by the user

and is always on and
always accessible
Affective wearable
Wearable's are
computational devices
that are worn as an
article of clothing or
jewelry
An affective wearable is
a wearable system
equipped with sensors
and tools that enables
recognition of its
wearer's affective
patterns
The entire systems is carried by the user

Wearable computers allow us to create

systems that go where the user goes

 More importantly, they provide a platform

that can maintain constant contact with the
user
Design for wearability
 A product that is
wearable should have
wearability

 Wearability is defined
as the interaction
between the human
body and the
wearable object
Refuge Wear
Temporary shelters,
Labeled Body
Architecture

 Portable habitat
catering for minimum
personal comfort

 Each wrapped in a
waterproof, insulated
body-suit fitted with
pockets
During the day
• Version of the structures
allow four men and women
to travel separately

At night
• Zip them all together to
make a warm four-person
tent.

The next day

• Unzip the tent and climb
into
their bodysuits to
continue their traveling.
Jacket/Armchair
This armchair come in quite
handy when camping. Made
by C. P. Company (an Italian
clothing manufacturer) and
designed by Moreno Ferrari

It is waterproof and has

magnetic buttons and comes
with air compressor.
Fashion Victims
 If you come near cell phone
users or maybe a wireless
network you will be warned
about this electronic pollution
 It is a pattern of mould that
slowly spreads out all over
your clothes.
 The intensity
and frequency of the
electromagnetic radiation
are reflected in the color
and density of the mould
pattern soiling your shirt.
