LO2 Planning and Developing for animation

By Jade Potter

Initial Ideas
‡ I chose the word ³stretch´. ‡ I then drew some simple pictures in the form of a spider diagram. ‡ I drew simple animations to explain what could happen to my original drawings.

Triangle
‡ I drew a picture of a triangle. ‡ The triangle could be stretched into different shapes. ‡ It would be relatively easy to animate my triangle. ‡ If I was to animate it I would use Claymation as it would be the easiest method because I have to manipulate the shape to Stretch it.

Person
‡ I drew a person and stretched him. ‡ This idea gave me an idea for my final animation. ‡ I thought it would look interesting and would be rather easy to use because I can easily move it and there are no small bits I have to be careful with.

Character development / Concept art

I had three characters; I had wall man who¶s role was to walk along the road and into a wall where he would fall over and Yellow man would eat him. Yellow man is a simple creation which can easily be manipulated. It is squished into a wall and moved. My second character was Yellow man his job was to walk along the road and eat people. I made him out of clay because it was the easiest method. Third character was the bird I cut him out of a magazine I used this because I thought it would look interesting and different.

Storyboard
The story was about a character who walked into a wall and was squished. Then another character ate the first one. When he flew of into space and a cut out bird ate him. It then flew of and that was it. I used this because I could show case different skills I had learnt throughout animation.
