SYNOPSIS

Liquid limit is an important property of fine grained soils. The Casagrande

apparatus is used as standard equipment for determining the liquid limit and it
requires considerable judgments from the operator. Therefore, this study is
conducted to determine the liquid limit using Cone penetrometer.

In the Cone penetrometer test cone of 30+1/2 degree is used with a weight of
80+0.5 g (cone with assembly) is used.

The present study deals with the determining the liquid limit of different soil
sample from both Casagrande apparatus and Cone penetromter and to
correlate the obtained liquid limit value.
