ORGANISATION

Players work in pairs. One player has a ball. A supply of balls is on hand.

HOW TO PLAY

Player with the ball follows his/her partner around the playing area. Partner without the ball moves randomly within the area. Partner moves at a pace which challenges the dribbling player but allows success. Rotate roles after 45 seconds, allowing a 1 minute rest period after both players have worked. Repeat the drill.

How to simplify the Session: Leading player can slow to almost walking pace to allow dribbling player to maintain appropriate distance. Allow dribbling player to use dominant foot only to start.

Progressions: Encourage more dynamic changes of direction. Coach conditions parts of foot to be used. Both players have a ball. Players must perform skill, ie. Step-over when changing direction.
