CLASSIFICATION
MECHANISM OF ACTION Antipyretic: Reduces fever by. acting directly on the hypothalamic heat-regulating center to cause vasodilatation and sweating, which helps dissipate heat. Analgesic: It blocks the peripheral pain impulses by inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis
DOSAGE & ROUTE Adults: PO or PR By suppository, 325-650 mg q 46 hr or PO,1000 mg tid to qid. Do not exceed 4g/day. Pediatric patient: PO or PR Doses may be repeated 4-5 times/day, do not exceed 5 doses in 24 hr, give PO or by suppository.

INDICATION Treatment of mild to moderate pain and fever An appropriate substitute for aspirin Antipyretic DOC in children and adolescents with flu syndromes.
CONTRA INDICATION Drug allergy to acetaminoph en Severe liver disease Genetic disease known as glucose-6phosphate dehydrogena se (G6PD) deficiency.
