Therapy Groups

Pre-registration required. Call (714) 547-6494. Parenting of Children 2 to 12: Tuesday 6-8 p.m. 12 sessions (Court approved) $15 intake session required before beginning class. Class fees: $15 each for individuals, $25 each for couples. OR, pay in advance for all 12 sessions: $150 for individuals and $258 for couples. Includes all materials. Parenting Classes

For Adults
Focus on Womens Anger: Monday 10 a.m.-12 noon or 7-9p.m. 10-week series. Mens Support Group: Wednesday, 7-8:30 pm. By: Mike Meador, MS, LMFT, M.Div., ext. 329 Womens Domestic Abuse Group: Support and education for women with past partner abuse. We have day time and evening classes available. Call ext. 334 for information. Finding Peace After Chaos: Process group for survivors of domestic abuse. Call ext. 334 for more information. Womens Sexual Abuse Survivor Support Group: Thursday, 7-8:30 p.m. Call for information and interview. Nurturing Our Inner Resources of Gratitude and Hope: Monday, 5:30-7 p.m. Develop and cultivate positive emotions for well being. By: Mike Meador, MS, LMFT, M.Div., ext. 329.

When Grief Is Difficult: Tuesdays, 7-9 p.m. For those feeling stuck or who are dealing with difficult or sudden deaths. Spouse Loss Group: Wednesday, 1-3 p.m. Loss of a Young Spouse: Thursday, 5:30-7 p.m. For those who have lost a spouse 55 years old or younger. Loss of a Parent: Thursday 7:30-9 p.m. Grieving Separation and Divorce: Saturday, 10:30 a.m.-12 noon. Group support for adults.

Womens Alcohol and Drug Abuse Treatment Program

This 4-month outpatient program has 16 weeks of alcohol and drug education and relapse prevention, 16 weeks of process group, and 4 individual counseling sessions. Fees are based on income. Free childcare available. Call (714) 547-6494 for a detailed schedule and an interview.

Founded in 1977, Mariposa Women and Family Center provides high quality, low cost mental health and substance abuse counseling, life skills, and supportive services to women and families who otherwise would be unable to afford the help they so desperately need. Over 93% of the people Mariposa serves have low to extremely low incomes. Whether their issues are depression, anxiety, loss of a loved one, substance abuse, anger management, domestic violence, childhood abuse, parenting difficulties, low self-esteem, communication problems, or other life challenges, Mariposa's counselors are here to help.
