Dietrich (Joy of Satan), Dr. Michael Aquino (Temple of Set), and the late Dr.

Anton LaVey (Church of Satan) to be perfect examples of Left Hand Path figures. Left hand path character traits to me would include having a strong ego and not being 'shy' about it, seeing Satan as the archetype of humanity who predates all other major religions (in the form of Set-hen, which is Egyptian for all mighty Set, the horned God of the ancient kingdom), the striving to advance oneself on earth, acknowledging the necessity of both love and hate/ constructive and destructive magic and the belief that we all have magickal tendencies within us that need to be exercised and developed much like our muscles. A Satanist is also someone who will utilize any and all forms of magick, ritual and divination including Tarot cards, Runes, Enochian Keys, Black Masses, sex rituals, hydromancy, necromancy, geomancy, pyromancy, aeromancy, candle magick, incense, poppets, and so forth to attain a goal. A Satanist never worries about the so called '3 fold law of return', 'karma' or any other such banal nonsense designed to enslave his or her mind w/ guilt anymore than he/she pays heed to the so called 'holy trinity.' A Satanist is self critical insofar as attempting to overcome his or her own faults as much as possible, yet he/she is also unafraid to pat him/herself on the back over a job well done! Almost all Satanists are also animal lovers who deplore the use of animal sacrifice as practiced by primitive jews, xtians and certain non-Satanic 'magicians' ( By the by, if you want to see 'silly', I suggest you view some of the wiccan material that is available online and in occult bookstores. When it comes to guilt and pretentiousness, they have even the xtains beat!) I had a gnawing feeling that when I mentioned being part of the Satanic movement you would respond w/ scorn, but I was hoping the result would be a bit different this time. Sadly, I was wrong. Take care now... Diabolus Mecum Semperterne! John Pirog. ********************************************

End notes
I would like to close this issue by appealing once again for articles from my fellow Satanists! The Inverted Cross was always meant to be a community newsletter, not a one man band! Any essays, original rituals, historical articles about the occult and/or artwork is always welcome.
