Hi, Im Dannielle, I am an online English tutor. Most of my students are from ages seven to fifteen and I handle an average of 25 students of different levels, from phonics to free talking. My students are enrolled in Yugang English Academy in Korea, and I teach them via Skype. The students reading materials are based from the modules made by the academy. They are given 10 -25 minutes, according to their level, to read in front of the camera. After which, they would answer my questions, and I would correct their mispronunciations and point out what they need to work on. My First Language was English until I was told by a Psychologist / friend of my parents not to talk in English anymore if I still want to have friends my age. I was four years old then, most of the people I talk to are adults and/or teenagers. So I tried talking in Filipino to have more friends and playmates. However, some of my friends talk Pangasinan and Ilocano, and so I also learned how to speak them. I would like to take up SPED since it is somewhat related to my B.S. course which is Nursing. That is why I enrolled in PTC as my initial step in order for me to have Education Units. Since I am tutoring Koreans, I decided to get EDL for me to be more confident in handling the kids. This is my first semester at UPOU. I decided to enrol at UPOU because I am online 8-9 hours a day due to my work and that I would want to learn more while working and hope to enjoy the new community. This is me, Im 25-years-old, Sagittarius, single and I like games, usually the manipulating-kind-of-games like Red Alert, Chess, and puzzles. I play the guitar and I love listening to music. My favourite band is The Corrs, and I like Taylor Swift and Avril, too.
