Tutorial 1: Protg
The purpose of this tutorial is to introduce you to the Protg ontology editor tool for OWL. During this session you will work in small groups to gain hands on experience of using the tool to build your own ontology and use some of the reasoning tools that it provides. The Protg tool is not pre-installed on the ITS machines. It is free to download and can be found at the following direct URL, or follow links to download Protg 4.0 from protege.stanford.edu, the home page of Protg:

If you are using an ITS computer, and do not have sufcient space on your J drive, you can temporarily install this to C:\temp for this tutorial. If you are using your own computer, you can also install the GraphViz tool, which is useful for visually displaying your ontology. This is also free and can be found at:
