WHERE FROM ADAM CAME?

1
By Shaikh Jaleel

In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the most Merciful.

[Or like a rainstorm from the sky, wherein is darkness, thunder and the flash of lightning.
They thrust their fingers in theirs ears by reason of the thunder-claps, for fear of death.
Allah encomposseth the disbelievers.(in his guidance). The lightning almost
snatcheth away their sight from them. As often as it flasheth forth for them they walk
therein, and when it darkeneth against them they stand still. If Allah willed, He could
destroy their hearing and their sight. Lo! Allah is Able to do all things. O mankind!
Worship your Lord, Who hath created you and those before you so that ye may ward off
(evil). Who hath appointed the earth a resting-place for you, and the sky a canopy; and
causeth water to pour down from the sky, thereby producing fruits as food for you. And
do not set up rivals to Allah when ye know (better).]

Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala is saying in these verses

means Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala said it is like that of rain storm
with darkness or a thunder that comes from the heaven with darkness
means the thunder is darkness. Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala anytime in
the holy Quran when He mentions about the darkness. He mentions it in the form of
plural. When Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala mentions the light He mentions it in the form of
singular. Anytime and the reason is Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala mentions the light as
singular because the light of Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala is one.
WHERE FROM ADAM CAME? 2
By Shaikh Jaleel
The prophet, the Imam, the Ulemas, everybody all their lives that they have is for
one source from Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala. But the darkness it has different sources;
that a lot of sources. They have Satans as a source. And Satans also we have Shaiteen
(Satans) and Jinns. It can come from Shaitin and Jinns and it might also come from
Shaitin and Jinns and then we have the Zulamaat of this source. The darkness of the
source. And this is also different. So this darkness has a different source that it comes
from. That Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala mentions the light in singular form. Even though
you see the prophet, the Imams, the Ulemas and all these people have only one source to
get the knowledge and guidance or the light of intellect and that source is only Allah
Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala. So, Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala said it is like
that of rain storm from the heaven and that storm it rains storm that is
darkness in it with darkness. Darkness is means thunder it is a flash of
that bright light which is produced by an electric discharge between clouds or between

clouds and the ground. All these things are approaching .

. The holy Quran tells us that what do they do. They simply (yajaaloon)
put their fingers in their ears for fear of thunder. Since phenomenally they
also feel a huge fear for death. And Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala has mentioned
that a fear of death and in another verse Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala

mentioned about the death that the death if you are

afraid of it that it will get you either you like it or not. It will get you. You
will have to get the taste of it. There could be no way of escape from imminent death.
And unfortunately you will find the people who would argue that there is no creator.
And you may find many people who also reject the Prophet Muhammad [may Allah
shower blessings upon him, we salute Him with a worth salutation.] You will find people
who vehemently reject the miracle of the holy Quran as well as the rest of the prophets
and their books. But the only thing you would surprise to know that no man can deny the
phenomenon of death. Regardless of their beliefs, regardless of in whatever the
environment they were brought up they can never ever refuse the death phenomenon.
You will find each and everyone knows that someday sooner or later they will die. And
they have the fear of the death. You can notice it from their actions. They don’t want to
get old. Their grey hair reminds them that they are close to death. That’s why they cut
their hair so that at least they desire to have a look of the young.
And some of them know. They always dye their hair because they fear the death.
And they always try to look young trying to polish their faces trying to have a look and
actions of the young. But on the contrary there are some people and when they come to
the believers they say that they are not afraid of death. Because they know and believe
firmly that death is not the end of their life. It is actually an odyssey from this world to
another world, as Imam Hussain explained with sound intellectual proofs. So such
people are not afraid of death. Because they know that it is just a journey you have to
undergo. So this is not the end of the world. They are not afraid of death. They even
welcome the death especially when it comes on the way of Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala.
WHERE FROM ADAM CAME? 3
By Shaikh Jaleel
Ali-ul-Akbar on the way to Karbala with his father Imam Hussain took a nap/siesta and

then after he woke up he started saying literally it that means we are

from Allah and to Him we shall return.
Then Ali-ul-Akbar said his father, “Oh my father! I saw you say

. Is there something wrong? Then Imam Hussain said “Yes

my son. I saw a sign of death. That we will be dying” and then listening to Ali-
ul-Akbar- a young man what was his response to is that; “I was left now alal-
haq . Oh my God! I went on the right path on the right way”.
And Imam Hussain said “ Sure we are on the right path”. Then Ali-ul-Akbar said,
“ We are on the right path. We don’t care. If we fall in the

death either way - it is fine. See the believers

the true believers they have the views about the death that is entirely different
from the disbelievers. So the holy Quran says “Those people - the disbelievers
and hypocrites, Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala is giving description of them saying
that those people are always afraid and scared of death. And now Allah Subhana-

Wa-Ta’aala said Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala encompasses

those who deny His verses. He always surrounds the people who are disbelievers.
That always whenever the disbelievers execute some actions or nasty thoughts
Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala says He always surrounds them. They can not do
anything beyond His control. Whatever they say. Whatever harm they do to
Muslims or to the believers Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala said He is watching them
and He surrounds their actions and all what they do. So anything they do is
watched by Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala. And Allah is watching them
meticulously and then Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala said
(the lightning almost snatcheth away their sight from them) is lightening
means almost almost takes away their vision absaar
means vision hum means their vision. Metaphorically it conveys
meanings that the people who get transient light or a small fraction of light they
consider it sufficient and adequate to them. But it is not like that. The light for
some moments may serve no practical purpose. We the Adam need to have
perennial and permeant light to get our problems solved. So Allah Subhana-Wa-
Ta’aala is sending lightening and thunder as a punishment to them. So Allah
Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala is telling us (it conveys the meaning of snatching)
and (it has been used for the vision of our sight) Whenever Allah

Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala said (as often as the light/flash comes

for them they walk therein and when again the dark comes they stand still and can
see nothing again) means when it is dark they stood. Then Allah
WHERE FROM ADAM CAME? 4
By Shaikh Jaleel

Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala said had Allah wanted He would

have snatched their hearing as well as their vision. Indeed Allah

has power, indeed. Indeed Allah has power over all things.
Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala has power over all things and nothing they can do of
what Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala is not aware of it or they have no power on it.
But Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala gives them time because He knows that they will
come for the accountability that He only can account them. And then after their
accountability He will send them to the way where Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala
wants them to go. So there is no rush. We as human being don’t know the
consequences and we don’t know the future that how long will it take, we don’t
know the end of the actions of things that we always watch things. The holy
Quran says that we always like to rush in them. But Allah
Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala knows that sooner or later people will come in front of
Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala willingly or unwillingly (willy-nilly). So Allah
Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala is not rushing to get them punished. He has given them
time. That’s why He says at the end of these verses that that indeed Allah
Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala He has power over all things. And then He says
(Oh! Mankind) , in Arabic we call it it is used for calling. If you
are calling someone like Oh. means Oh. And then we have , in Arabic

means then we call it we call someone’s attention. We know is the

word the letter for calling. So if you want to call someone not by their names you
want to get their attention then you say you call them to get that person’s
attention. So Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala said wants to have our attention
saying . is human being, which is the singular of the plural of the world
Al-insaan. Word Al-insaan comes from the word Al-nisian means
forgetfulness. So in Arabic a man is called insaan because of his forgetfulness.
So, when He says Al-insaan means he who forgets. So alnaas means those who
forget. Here is has been used in plural. So that’s why Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala
says that He says , is correct. But Allah Subhana-Wa-
Ta’aala calls our attention because we are human beings those who forget easily.
Very easily we forget. That’s why Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala said
that Oh you the human beings Oh you who people worship your lord.
Worship your lord. Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala is calling and here Allah
Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala said Al-naas. The holy Quran has different ways of
addressing. Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala sometimes when He addresses He
addresses the group. Here Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala is addressing the entire
WHERE FROM ADAM CAME? 5
By Shaikh Jaleel
people saying Oh you the people worship your lord.
Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala is calling our attention to worship Him because that is
the purpose of the creation. The reason why Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala has
created the human being just to worship Him recognizing His divine control over
all things in the time and space. So Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala after He has
created the human being He has directed the mankind to come on this earth and
worship Him. So a man comes in these world and faces different phases and then
he forgets. He forgets that he been created with a view to worship Him. That’s
why Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala is calling our attention and asking us that we
should worship lord. And then Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala says A –Abudu au
Rabaakum. And Raab in Arabic it comes from the word at-terbia means to
take something to the destination and that is the reason why Allah Subhana-Wa-
Ta’aala used the word Rabokum worship your lord Who is taking you to the
destination or Who takes you to the destination. That your lord who started
you from sperms (spermatozoa) and gradually you became human beings. The
same lord who designed the way for you that takes you to your destination an
everlasting happiness. And He did it after He designed the way. He gave you an
intellect which guides you to the ever lasting happiness. That’s why Allah
Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala said Oh you people worship your

lord. Who is your lord? Now He is defining Himself. if you forget

your Allah, He says “I am going to remind you as your lord’. Your lord is

He who created you. ,. in Arabic means

to bring something, to create, to do something for the existence, means Khlq
Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala said if you don’t remember your lord , then your

lord will remind you. He says Lord is the one who has created you.
Because did not come into existence yourselves. And if you don’t know who
created you, Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala said, “ I am the one who created you.

And only that I created you, He says and then created people

before you. Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala has created you. He says

He created people before you. Your father, your mother, our

mothers our fathers, our grand fathers, our great grand fathers, they were also
created by Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala. Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala created all

the things. That is not just you. He says (that ye may ward off evil)
You may have, you may attain the fear of Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala. And then

He says Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala says that He created all you

because if a man will think a second the thing that Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala has
created him. The way Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala has designed, the way Allah
WHERE FROM ADAM CAME? 6
By Shaikh Jaleel
Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala has created all these ways, Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala has
created other things. If a man will think just a second about the things and the
ways Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala has arranged for the mankind in this world , that
all things go in a great sequence and order and how all those things looks in great
proportionate sequences. Then the firmest possible Iman will take into the heart
of human being. That’s why Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala in one of His verses He

said; that if you look at the changing of the day and night
that indeed if you look into the creation of the
heavens, Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala has created them. And there is not only one
heaven the Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala has created for mankind there are seven
different heavens. And each heaven gives very evident proof with full exhibition
that Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala has created it. In other lecture we shall see
Inshallah that what these heavens possess in them and what were the designs of
Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala in creating these wonderful heavens.
Then you come to the sun and also towards its movement. The sun comes and
goes. Then you look at the moon. That each one of them has their own time to appear
and disappear. And they have their own peculiar ways to come and go in different pre-
set directions. They never change their vectorial directions. They work as a team of
Allah.
You see what Allah has created that is well-organized and nice looking. That

Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala said that We indeed has

created human being in the best possible way and form. Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala said

We have created a man in the best possible form. And then He created all
these living things, the trees, and Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala made those trees that we
have and we use. Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala made them infallible. They don’t commit
errors and do mistakes. If you happen to see an apple, you notice that there is not any
mistake in apple. And we could not notice any kind of mistake in it. And apple will only
give us a plant/tree of apple. Because there is guidance in the seed, there is nature in the
seed, there is planning of Allah in the seed, there is peculiar design of Allah in the seed of
apple that it will just give the human being the only and only tree of apple. The designs
of Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala in the creation of things are infallible and there is no
shadow of any doubt or error in the designs or planning of Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala.
In short that every seed of any tree will give the only tree of what the seed it is.
Allah knows what he is creating for the mankind in order to serve the human
beings and to produce the results according to the efforts of the humans. Otherwise there
might have been chaos. And to give and create the chaos is against the nature of the
Supreme Being (Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala). What is the motive behind all the divine
efforts is just to give the concept of Taqwa.
So, Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala in the verses He is describing Himself. He says

that He is the one who created human beings and those who came before,
those who have so strong like people of Hud, people of Fallah that Allah Subhana-Wa-

Ta’aala created all those people. And He says He did all these things. Why?
WHERE FROM ADAM CAME? 7
By Shaikh Jaleel
May be you may have fear of Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala. Most of the time people ask
what is the reason, what is the proof that Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala is great? We need a
proof – a lot of people. We want physical proof. Some of them need different types of
proof to know that Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala exists.
One of the ways that Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala exists is to look in the
surroundings what Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala has created. Also to look at ourselves –
the way Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala has created you. If you think about the creations of
Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala that is one of the ways you get the Taqwa. To attain the fear
of Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala. That’s why Imam Ameer-ul-Mouminin, Imam Ali, they

say that don’t you think about Allah

that how Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala created you? If you want to know Allah Subhana-
Wa-Ta’aala is the only way that we should look around what Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala
has created. That is the best way to know and understand the lord. And in such a way
you can find your Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala your creator. And that’s why the same
Imam Ali wanted to know and he came to know by asking that he was given an answer
that: Did you see your lord? He said of course he saw his lord. Anything he looked at he
saw Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala.
And if you look at the creation around you, that Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala
created on this planet. Every thing possesses a great visible sign of its creator that is Allah
Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala. Once a man came to Imam Ali to have a proof that Allah
Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala really does exist. On it Imam Ali said that man if he happened to
go into a desert he would notice the footprints. What would it be meant for? He replied
to the Imam Ali that it would prove that somebody trod/walked over there that’s why the
footprints left over there. Then Imam Ali replied that if you comprehended completely
that why the footprints came over there that somebody came there and left the footprints.
Then answer of his question lied in his reply given to Imam Ali that also there is some
power Who created him. So there are signs that somebody created you and us. You did
not create yourself by yourself. There is a power that created you. And that someone is

called Allah. Then told Imam Ali that Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala said may
be you attain the Taqwa. Imam also attained the Taqwa. One of those who attained the
Taqwa they did not attain through by praying tesbihs. Yes that is another way to attain
the Taqwa but among those who attained the super form of Taqwa they did it by thinking
about the nature and planning and designs of the Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala. And they
noticed that how the universe and all the creature in it is going mathematically perfect in
its execution with error free perfection. And they also noticed that how the universe
governing forces are working as a team. And the entire human body is working purely on
mathematical performance without giving any error sign. So these sings found
profoundly in the universe give a sound proof that indeed Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala
does exist. So the main purpose is to attain the Taqwa.
May Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala give us strength to attain the Taqwa. (Amen!)

End of the lecture.

WHERE FROM ADAM CAME? 8
By Shaikh Jaleel
A session of questions asked by a participant of Majlis.

A participant of the Majlis:

Which verses did you recite today?

Shaikh Jaleel:

Verses No 19 – 21 of Surrah Al-Baqarah (The Cow).

A participant of the Majlis:

Then Allah says those He created before us the human beings only or there could
have been any other living creatures?

Shaikh Jaleel:

He said it means that it can be any thing that Allah has created. Because
He did not prescribe in detail that you – the human beings especially. So it can be any
thing. Everything that Allah has created before us – the human beings, any thing like the
sun and so other things Allah has created.

A participant of the Majlis:

OK. As far as creation is concerned, it does not say exactly how we were
created?

Shaikh Jaleel:

Yes. The holy Quran has mentioned that how we were created. The first creation
the holy Quran has mentioned because about this comes when you see about the people
who think about the evolution. In America I had a lot of questions about the entity of
evolution that how we the human beings developed and the way it is today someone of
them think that it can through evolution. But the holy Quran tells us that No. What the
holy Quran says about the creation of human being is that the first creation is that the

Allah has created the Adam and then created Eve. that He
created him from one soul. And that soul is of Adam. And then in another verse He says
He created a man and a woman. Because Allah has created Adam and then created
Eve his wife for Adam. So and then after He created Adam and Eve, they both got
married and then through them they started producing children. So the rest of mankind
came through Allah He created Adam and Eve from Turab. But rest of the human beings
they did not come from the Turab exactly. That they were created through the sperms
(spermatozoa) the holy Quran said. In another verse Allah has given us more definition.
The first point of creation that Allah started from the Adam and Eve is that they came
WHERE FROM ADAM CAME? 9
By Shaikh Jaleel
through the sperms (spermatozoa). And these sperms change after few days because in
Hadith a change takes place when a sperm goes into the woman’s womb. There it is
stayed for a period of forty days. And after the forty days it changes into blood. From
the stage of the blood and then after the change into blood for forty days. And then after
forty days a change comes into the matter it becomes chunk of meat. And then after it
comes into the chunk of meat for forty days and then after forty days it changes also into
another step of being another creation. Therefore, the holy Quran says that after the forty
days then it starts developing by having hands. And in other stage of seven days and then
after that there appears another hand and then legs and then ears and then nose.
So the holy Quran has given us the guideline the way of Allah creates the human
being. In other verses Allah has given all the definitions and these changes that a human
being undergoes in order to come a complete human being.

A participant of the Majlis:

OK.

Jaleel Shaikh:

If you want to have an elaborate answer Inshallah I can further look for it and we
can discuss in detail the creation of human being.

A participant of the Majlis:

Inshallah!

Jaleel Shaikh:

Yeah! I can find that. We have all the reference in the holy Quran. The holy
Quran has given us a lot of definitions.

A participant of the Majlis:

Actually I do have a question really was only He created human being or created
other intelligent creatures before and wiped them and created human being?

Jaleel Shaikh:

OK. The first think Allah created according to this question was asked by the
prophet. And it is in Haral Anwar, where Jaber-ul-Ansari. That what is the first thing

Allah created? Then the prophet said He said the first

thing Allah created before anything, the first thing Allah created was the light of our
prophet. And that is the prophet Muhammad (may Allah shower blessings upon him, we
salute him with a worthy salutation). So, the first thing, the first being Allah created is

the light of the prophet and then He said after Allah created the light
WHERE FROM ADAM CAME? 10
By Shaikh Jaleel
of the prophet then He created ever single thing from that light from the light of the
prophet Muhammad (may Allah shower blessings upon him, we salute him with a worthy
salutation). So any good thing you see on the planet today has been created from the
light of the prophet. And then the prophet tells in Hadith where he said After
He created the light He created the light of Ahl-e-Bait from him. The light of Ahl-e-Bait
created from the light of the prophet. This is why we/you seek in the Hadith that the

prophet said that you and I are from the one light. So the first
light Allah created is the light of the prophet and then created Imam Ali from the light of
the light of the prophet.

So so after Allah created the light of the prophet He created

the light of the Ahl-e-Bait as well. And then after He created the light of Ahlil-Bait and
then He created the light of the prophet, the Aulia, the Falahin, the Ulal Azam and then
after He created that He created the righteous people. And then after that He create the
sun, He created Oh No no – after He created the prophet and the Ahl-e-Bait and then He
created the righteous – the other things that Allah created before He created intellect.

There is Hadith That after Allah created the light. The

first thing Allah created before the creation of human being was the human intellect.
Then Allah asked this intellect (akbil) that comes from Allah and then the aql walks
to Allah. And then Allah commanded the Intellect again saying then turn away turn
back and then the intellect came back then Allah said it is mentioned in holy Hadith

that I never created something that I laughed so much

more than you. And then He said and then I would not meet

you complete unless you have Iman. And then said with
you I will reward the human being and with you I will punish the human being. Then
Allah created Aql, which is intellect. Before He created Adam, So Allah the first thing
He created is the light of the prophet and then the light of the Ahl-e-Bait. So in holy
Hadith the light of Ahl-e-Bait is even older than the Adam. And we know before the
Adam there were thousands of Adams too. There were thousands of Adams who lived
before this Adam.
And Allah created all these things from only one light which is the light of
Muhammad (may Allah shower blessings upon him, we salute him with a worthy
salutation) and that’s why in holy Hadith when the Adam came in the paradise which

Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala says that He taught him the names and

the holy Hadith also says that the names that Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala taught Adam
are the names of Muhammad, and Ali, and Fatima, and Hasan and Hussain. They do
exist before the Adam because those Adam means that he used to seek the forgiveness
from Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala. So, Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala says that as the light
of the prophet and then the light of Ahl-e-Bait those have been Allah Subhana-Wa-
WHERE FROM ADAM CAME? 11
By Shaikh Jaleel
Ta’aala created before ever than. And we have another holy Hadith that’s why Allah
Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala said that knew the prophet
Muhammad that not because of you I did not create anything any being or anything on
the planet. And then goes to laulaak Ali then goes to Imam
Ali is not because of you have been created. So, the first thing Allah Subhana-Wa-
Ta’aala has created is the light of prophet. The laila tul miraj the night when the holy
prophet went there with Jabrial. The prophet asked Jabrial that how older was he
(Jabrial)? And then Jabrial said that he did not know his age. But he told that he knew
that there was some kind of light he saw. That light comes one time ever thousand years.
And Jabrial told that he saw the light again after thousand of years now. So, I can say
Jabrial told the prophet that he was one thousand-years-old, or more than a thousand-
years-old. And the prophet looked at him and smiled and said to him that did he know
that light? Who that light was? Jabrial said No. Then the prophet said I swear by the
God Who created me and sent me as a messenger. I am that light what you saw. This is
the night of Lail tul miraj that the prophet and Jabrail went to the sky.
It is indicating that the prophet is older than Jabrial. So the first thing Allah
Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala created according to the holy Hadith is the light of the prophet.
That the first thing Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala created. That the first man to live on the
planet is Adam. That is the difference. But the first thing that Allah Subhana-Wa-
Ta’aala created is the light of the prophet. So, even Adam was created from the light of
the prophet Muhammad (may Allah shower blessings upon him, we salute him with a
worthy salutation).

THUS IT IS PROVED WHERE THE ADAM CAME FROM.
