Tank fire and pool fire - Radiating Heat calculation for fuel facilities - 3D analysis

Heat Contours in vertical and horizontal planes

Radiating heat calculation for vertical tank surfaces - 3D drawings (values in kW/m2)

Flame modelling and radiating heat - fixed roof and floating roof tanks.

Calculation of cooling water for fuel tanks and structures (values in L/m2-min and total L/min per tank or structure). Calculation of emergency vent flow rate for tanks exposed to radiating heat.

Fire exposure for no-wind and wind conditions. Calculations in accordance with SFPE Handbook of Fire Protection Engineering.

Calculation of maximum radiating heat in kW/m2 and total heat of the exposed tank or structure.

Calculation of radiating heat on structures adjacent to the tank on fire, including pumphouse, valve buildings, etc. The analysis include exposure of beams, columns, roof, walls, openings such as doors and windows and interior equipment.

Detailed analysis of structures, including maximum radiating heat in kW/m2 and total heat in kW. The analysis include cooling water requirements for walls, roof and for each level of the structure.

3D views of the whole facility. We provide several drafting options to show the results in accordance with the requirements of our clients. Our drawings are compatible with CAD software.

Spheres and supporting structures exposure. Radiating heat calculations for safety areas, fire operations areas, property limits and fire brigade

access roads.

Point Source and Solid Flame modelling, under no-wind and wind conditions, tilted flame and vertical flame.

Horizontal tanks modelling, semi-spheric ends and flat ends, including tank supports and piping connections.

Modelling of pumps, valves, fire hydrants and fire monitors exposed to fire.

Piping and radiating heat. The analysis provides the maximum radiating heat and the total heat absorbed by the pipe and the thermal relief requirements. The thermal analisys is extended to the pipe supports, including calculation of cooling requirements.

Vertical structures like chimenys, cooling pump stations.

3D view of cooling towers and pumping station.

Pipe heat exposure shown on 3D drawings.

Chimney heat exposure shown on 3D drawings.

Fire analisys report. Includes: - Flame analysis, flame height, flame tilt angle due to wind and flame emmisive rate; - Detailed results for vertical tanks, horizontal tanks, spheres, structures, chimneys, hydrants, monitors, pumps, valves. - Maximum heat exposure, incident radiating heat, total heat, required cooling water, and average exposure range.
