BATROBAN OINTMENT 3 TIMES A DAY

Local antiinfectives

Unknown. Thought to inhibit bacterial protein and RNA synthesis.

Traumatic skin lesion infected by staphylococ cus aureus or streptococc us pyogenes.

Contraindicated in patients hypersensitive to drug or its components. Use cautiously in patients with large open wounds an in those with impaired renal function because serous toxicity may occur.

CNS: headache SKIN: burning, pruritus, stinging, rash, pain, erythema with topical use.

1. Prolonged use may cause overgrowth of nonsusceptible bacteria and fungi 2. Local reactions appear to be caused by polyethylene glycol vehicle. 3. Tell patient or SO to tell immediately the prescriber if condition doesnt improve or get worse with 3 to 5 days. 4. Warn patient about local adverse reactions related to drug use 5. Caution patient not to use cosmetics or other skin products on treated area.
