    To make a segment read only in a dynamic flexfield (DFF), one must create a dummy segment with the same attributes as the read only segment and assign it to a value set. Then, edit the flexfield information and assign the read only segment to the dummy segment using the value set. Freeze and compile the flexfield to make the changes take effect.

    Segment which has to be made read only

    Dummy Segment

    Create a value set as shown

    Choose Edit Information.

    1 segment one. 2 segment two. Freeze and compile flexfield.
