VOCAL WARM UP (1/2 hour) Something in a circle (yee hah?) Down Face and Body Massage Pumpkin Face Raisin Face Red Lorry Yellow Lorry (in pairs) I, 2, 3 All I want is a proper cup of coffee Nee Nor Nu Nor GGggggah Moving on the breath On the floor (vowels) On the floor soundscapes (if they struggle we can do this in small groups straight away) Rain Thunder / Storm Jungle

Seascape Haunted House Woodland Whatever they like

TASK: Create a one-minute voice soundscape performance interactive where do the audience stand distance, proximity etc.

TASK: Make a 45 second radio advert with at least 5 different voices in and 2 effects

EXPERIMENTAL VOICE

Voice what can we do here (voice workshop?) In groups can you find twenty different ways to perform your text: Literal, like: you are reading your dads diary, a newsreader, an opera singer, a teacher speaking to small child, an actor accepting an award, Playful spat, whispered, swallowed, shouted etc Physical upside down, whilst running, with your mouth closed, through your fingers etc Movement Study like a car, like the rain, like glass, like metal, like mud etc Useful to bring: Scissors and glue to cut up bits of text so they dont have too much to work from

Games Knees Milling and seething

Greetings around the room (a different voice per introduction) Reversed instructions

CHARACTER VOICES (Physical Approach) Laban (with mobile phone) Leading with different parts of your body Rhythm? Tempo Rhythms Complicite: voice like elastic etc

Use different extracts in pairs prepare something switch around (doesnt matter if its boys or girls)

TASK: prepare one of the extracts as a radio play
