KSHB-TV NAMES JIAOJIAO SHEN ANCHOR FOR NBC ACTION NEWS TODAY Kansas City, Missouri KSHB-TV, Kansas City's NBC Action News Station, announced today that JiaoJiao Shen will take over as anchor for NBC Action News Today, effective September 12, 2011. Shen will co-anchor with Curtis Jay and replaces Christa Dubill. Dubill was earlier named co-anchor for News at 4:30 PM, 5:00 PM and 10:00 PM. In making the announcement, Mike Vrabac, vice president and general manager for KSHB/ KMCI-TV said, Were thrilled with the experience and professional skills JiaoJiao brings to the morning show. She has some big shoes to fill replacing Christa but we love her enthusiasm and Im confident that Kansas City will embrace her. Shen is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia. Prior to coming to KSHB, JiaoJiao worked in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Topeka, Kansas and Columbia, Missouri. In 2010, JiaoJiao was recognized for her work from the anchor desk. The Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters awarded her and her morning team "Best Morning Newscast." Morning news is as important as prime time for NBC Action News. JiaoJiaos education at Mizzou and her journalism experience in Topeka and Oklahoma City are the building blocks she needs to help us continue to grow in morning news, stated Peggy Phillip, news director for NBC Action News.
