ENGINEERING PHYSICS
Tutorial Guide - Week 13

Tutorial Format

Same format to weeks 3, 5, 7, 9 & 11.

Tutors should separate students for the quiz (avoid

copying).

The tutorial quiz should take approx 20 minutes. Make

sure they are named as this will constitute your roll call to
be recorded in the tutorial folder.

Collect the Quizzes.

Form the students into groups with a maximum of 4 per

group. During quiz weeks the idea is for groups to address
a number of the Questions at the end of each chapter as
indicated in the Exercise set below.

The tutor is free to select 4 or 5 of the questions below,

with at least one from each chapter to wrap up the
semester, let the students discuss the questions for 15-
20 minutes and arrive at a consensus.

The tutor is then to engage the students in a discussion

about each question, attempt to involve most students,
identify possible misconceptions, challenge those
misconceptions and convey reasoning which results in the
correct answer.

Please tell them that the EXAM format and study

advise will be given in the final lecture on Friday.
