ENGINEERING PHYSICS
Tutorial Guide - Week 12

Tutorial Format [T10P]

The tutorial quiz from the previous week is to be

distributed to those in attendance. The tutor can discuss
the correct answers/solutions for 10-15 minutes and then
collect the quizzes back. NO student is to keep the
quizzes.

Form the students into groups with a maximum of 4 per

group. During weeks between quizzes the idea is for small
study groups to address a number of the PROBLEMS at the
end of each chapter as indicated in the Exercise set below.

Tutors are to address the problems in BOLD below. The

questions and problems of previous weeks are indicated
just for reference..

The tutor is free to select 3 or 4 of the problems below (I

suggest 1 from each chapter), let the students work on the
problems for 20-30 minutes while ‘floating’ between the
groups helping them make progress towards a well
structured solution. Do not solve the problems for them,
guide them.

Attendance is to be noted (5 marks) and students given

full marks (10 marks) provided they participate fully in the
activity. Sitting back and not contributing to the group
activity is not to be encouraged.

[Once the quizzes have been reviewed with the results

entered in the mark folder the quizzes can be
deposited/returned to me for storage.]
