Professor Karl J. strm

Department of Automatic Control Lund Institute of Technology, Lund University, and Department of Mechanical Engineering University of California, Santa Barbara Title

Feedback Fundamentals

Date: October 19, 2005 (Wednesday), 13:30 -15:00 Place: Conference Room at 4th Floor, No.9 Building, Hatoyama Campus, TDU Abstract

The knowledge about control has expanded drastically over the past 50 years and engineers from many different disciplines are using control. It is necessary to give the basics of control to a very wide audience, computer scientists, physicists, pharmacologists, medical doctors etc. For the engineers it is also necessary to compress the knowledge so that it can be taught in a reasonable time. In this lecture I will give my personal views on how this can be done and I will also relate experiences from several experimental courses. I will also demonstrate useful software that can enhance education.
