none potassium levels.
Be sure to teach the patient the following about this
medication
Instruct pt and family on administration technique. Explain that this
controls hyperglycemia, but does not cure diabetes. Instruct pt in proper
testing of blood sugar and ketones. Emphasise the importance of diet and
regular exercise. Instruct pt on signs and symptoms of hypoglycemia.
Diabetics should carry a source of sugar incase this happens. This is a
rapid acting insulin so the pt needs to eat as soon as possible after
administration.
