St.Gilgen International School Bar - Proposal

Dear Mr. Chapman, We write to you to propose the usage of Goldgasse No.6 (Bar), as an St.Gilgen International School Bar. Following some idea-developing discussions and conversations with other students we have come to the conclusion that there is no place for the members of the different boarding houses as well as day-students to socialize and relax together on a Friday or Saturday evening. The common rooms, which are being established in the different boarding houses at the present, are a great step for members of the student body to do homework and sit together an talk quietly, however under the constant supervision of a member of staff. Therefore some members of the student body had the idea of cleaning up the old Bar in Goldgasse No.6 and to put in some speakers as well as stock up the furniture in order to create a space were High-school students (8-12 Grade) can listen to music, talk and snack on a Friday and Saturday evening. The whole evening (2000-2200hrs for non IB / up to 23 oclock for IB) would be supervised by two or three voluntary IB-students responsible for cleaning and locking up at the end. The StGIS-Bar would be supporting unity and understanding between boardinghouses, day students and gender, which is not achieved to a great degree at the present we believe. Furthermore individual members of the student body will mostly cover the costs as some have access to cheap or old furniture and electronics such as speakers and a refrigerator, however we would kindly ask for a budget of approx 300 Euros from the school in support to our project. Voluntary members of the student body will do all the work of cleaning up and re-organizing furniture during two days of the CASweek. (PaulB, FelixB +) Permitting the signing out of Goldgasse No.6 key from Reception for the SG-EB as well as PaulB and FelixB Two days cleaning Goldgasse No.6 during CAS week A budget of 300 Euros Approving IB responsibility over evenings Kind Regards, The Student Government, Paul Batthyany, Felix Bradstaetter
