SOME OF THE BASIC KNOTS

Granny Knot

-Its a common mistake of a granny. Its a square knot. Fishermans Eye Knot

- Also known as the middle knot. 2 knots will meet together and jam when strained. Great for carrying loads. Figure Eight Knot

-When tying packages, this knot could be useful in such places. Hitching Tie

-Used for hitching animals. This is a slippery hitch type.

Overhand Bow

- Known as water knot to the climbing fort. And as a retrace overhand. Used for tying flat webbing into continuous loop and good for mountain hiking and hanging at a rock. Sailors Knot

- Basically two halve hitches. Great for tent lines. Sheet Knot.

- The important knot for joining two rope ends, especially if its different sizes. Begin with a bight in the larger rope. Then weave the end of the smaller rope through the eye, around the bight, and back under it. Snug it carefully before applying any strain to the knot. Surgeons Knot

- Gives added friction to hold until the second crossing is made. This is a square knot with an extra twist. Chain Hitch

- When we need to pull some cable from one tank to another we tie a chain hitch on the cable and use the rope to start pulling the cable.
