Three Dutch artists, Elyanne Lempers, Fred Warmer and Dave de Vaal are affected by Afghanistan. All three are interested in the people, the country, as well as in the complex and confused political situation, resulting in war in Afghanistan. Two of them, Fred and Dave, deployed to Afghanistan, experienced the daily life as a trooper on the ground by participating in many patrols and reconnaissance missions. The Dutch Officers Association (VNO) requests the pleasure of your company at the official opening by H. E. Drs. Eimert van Middelkoop, former Minister of Defence in The Netherlands, of the exhibition titled:

Afghanistan: Reflections through Lens and Brush Saturday, 22 October 2011, starting at 15.00 hrs.

All three artists met and decided to express their thoughts and reflections of present Afghan life through a combined exhibition, consisting of photos, short movies and paintings. Some 100 works will be presented. The initiative is on a non-profit basis, however, the artists have the objective to raise funds for an Afghan development project through the exhibition.
