Islamabad, Pakistan, Nov 22nd (BosNewsLife): The President of Pakistan General Pervaiz
Musharraf has issued a Provisional Constitutional Ordinance (PCO) that not only validates
Emergency but puts it on so much solid grounds that it can not be challenged in any court of the
Pakistan. This newly promulgated PCO validates all other orders related to the State of
Emergency or issued after the Imposition of Emergency since Nov 3rd. This PCO comes in to
force at once.

In another order the President has ordered to establish High Court in Islamabad Capital Territory
(ICT). He said that I have ordered to set up Federal High Court (FHC) due to the longstanding
demand of the residents of Islamabad. Residents of Islamabad, Rawalpindi and nearby localities
will benefit from this newly established FHC.

On the other hand, Journalists at Faisalabad and Quetta were manhandled, tear gassed and
mercilessly baton-charged when they tried to take out a rally to protest against the curbs on the
media, detention of jurists, journalists, civil liberties activists and political workers from various
political parties.

At Faisalabad almost 10 media men were severely injured and 16 were arrested, in the meantime
at Quetta 27 journalists were detained.

Whereas Police high-ups admitted that it is against the human values but they are helpless as they
are ordered from above to stop such rallies and gatherings due to the State of Emergency in the
Country, they regretted.

The Sharif Brothers are poised to make another attempt to return to Pakistan before Nov 26th, the
last date for submission of nomination papers for the upcoming national polls. Amid the news of
their return, BosNewsLife has learnt that Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif, Amin Fahim of PPP and
Qazi Hussein Ahmad Chief of MMA, had a telephonic conversation and they assented on
boycotting the next general elections. They said that the free and fair polls are impossible under
emergency rule in the country.

The government has freed former Pakistani cricket legend Imran Khan from the Dera Ghazi Khan
Prison. He was detained under anti-terrorist act and we have received orders of Khan’s release,
jail officials told BosNewsLife via phone on Wednesday.
