Islamabad, Pakistan, Oct 17th, 2007 (BosNewsLife): Supreme Court of Pakistan

adjourned hearing of high profile case about the overwhelming victory of General
Perviaz Musharraf in the Oct 6th presidential polls, as Panel of the Opposition lawyers
pleaded for the Full Court hearing, on Wednesday Oct 17th, 2007.

Supreme Court Judge, Justice Javed Iqbal, head of the hearing panel of the Court, said
that he has no objection citing “I have no objection to a full court but the issue is to be
decided by the chief justice. We are cautious of the fact that this is a high-profile matter”.

The request of the opposition lawyers was hectically objected by the Panel of
Musharraf’s lawyers. But the Justice Javed Iqbal said, “I have no problem about this
request”, and he referred the request to the Supreme Court’s Chief Justice Chaudhary
Muhammad Iftikhar.

Almost 1,500 protesters protested out side the Supreme Court Complex in the favor of
Judiciary and against General Pervaiz Musharraf by shouting slogans, “Go Musharraf go”
under the nose of scores of baton wielded security men deployed out side the complex.

If Chief Judge Justice Chaudhary Iftikhar accepts the plea then he could head the full
court bench.

It is notable that the General Perviaz Musharraf can not be declared New President of
Pakistan unless the apex court’s ruling in his favor.

On the other hand Pakistan People’s Party’s Chairperson Ms Benazir Bhutto is expected
to arrive at Karachi airport on Thursday Oct 18th after 8 years of self-imposed exile.

Addressing to a press conference at U.A.E’s capital Dubai she said “Yes, I am going to
Pakistan.” Ms Bhutto added that no one can keep her away from Pakistan. She said that
she would not hurt the feelings of more than one million people waiting to welcome her
warmly on her arrival at Karachi airport, as she has heard.

Chairman of Rays of Development Organization (ROD), Sargodha Mr Ferhan Mazher

welcomed arrival of PPP’s chief Benazir Bhutto (BB) saying that she is the symbol of
democracy and freedom in Pakistan.

Other Christian Political Parties such as All Pakistan Minorities Alliance (APMA) and
Pakistan Christian National Party (PCNP) have also greeted BB’s arrival.
