Michael Erwin Yanto Procedure 1. Prepare the materials needed for the experiment.

Calorimeter, Foil, Thermometer, Graduated Cylinder, 15cm strip of MG, 1g of MgO and 50mL Hcl 2. Fill the Calorimeter with the Hcl then put the Mg strip inside. Cover it with the foil. 3. Put the thermometer inside and measure the initial and final volume. 4. Re-use or get another calorimeter, put 50mL HCl again but this time use the MgO 5. Repeat the steps 1-3 Materials - Calorimeter - Foil - 15cm Mg strip - 1g MgO - Thermometer - 50mL Hcl We have the materials needed for the experiment, used them properly and followed the procedure correctly. We never had problems with the experiment except for slightly wrong measurements of Mg and MgO. We used the graduated cylinder to measure the HCl so we have the accurate result. We obtained the expected result because of this. Percent Error [-601.6-(-544.159)/-601.6]x100 = 9.55% We have a percentage error less than 10% therefore we have a verified result. We dont have any problems with the mechanical side but we might have measured the Mg and MgO. We accomplished the experiment not by just doing everything correctly but

having a low percentage of error meaning we have the correct results.
