SOALAN TUGASAN /ASSIGNMENT QUESTION SOALAN / QUESTION The Universal Grammar Theory is the first of the individual-based theory introduced by Chomsky (1981, 1986) and has been, by far, the strongest linguistic influence on second language research in recent years. The main aims of Universal Grammar Theory are to answer these three questions: i) What constitutes knowledge of language? ii) How is knowledge of language acquired? iii) How is knowledge of language put to use? Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of Universal Grammar Theory and how knowledge of Universal Grammar Theory helps you in language teaching. (Total: 30 marks)
