One-way correlated / repeated measures Analysis of Variance (ANOVA)

(Dr See Kin Hai) 1. Same sample performing under different conditions (eliminate systematic bias) over time to detect differences in the dependent variable (scores) 2. The participants are measured more than once thus the individual differences can be identified and adjusted in this analysis. 3. Individual differences (within subject error) is removed Example: Table shows the scores obtained by the same 5 participants under 3 different conditions.

Coursework (Use Work10.sav) Diastolic blood pressure readings were taken from 8 hospital patients in the morning, at noon and again in the evening. You wish to determine whether time of the day significantly influences blood pressure reading. Hint: 1. In Repeated Measures Define Factors Box: type [time] 2. Number of Levels: [3], then [Add] 3. Select [Define] to open [Repeated Measures ANOVA] subdialogue box, click [morndbp, noondbp, evendbp] into [Within Subject Variables (time)], [OK]
