Field Trip more on this later! Hatching and raising chickens in the classroom. Pet parade students can bring pets to school to show and share. Making humane habitats for animals.

Learning across the disciplines


Language
The students will write informational reports to describe various animals and what they are used for. The students will also create surveys used to collect data on French In French the students will learn about domestic and wild animals especially those found in the Savannah and their characteristics . They will watch the movie Kirikou et les btes sauvages to enhance their learning.

Personal and Social Education (PSE)

Caring for the local environment fosters appreciation.

Social Studies

PE
This will be a stand-alone unit which will not incorporate Physical Education into the topic.

Analyze ways in which humans use animals. Describe how consumer demand for animal products affects the environment.

Music
The students will be learning, practicing and rehearsing songs for the festival of lights. The Festival of Lights Concert will be on Thursday, December 8th

Visual Arts
In Art will be a stand alone unit where we are experimenting with using the natural world for inspiration in our art.
