Lesson Presentation
Introduction/Motivational Activities/Anticipatory Set: Ask students what equal means. Ask students what sharing means. Then ask what their favorite pizza topping is. Draw a pizza with the same number slices as students and color code it according to topping choices. Explain to students that factions make it possible to share pizza and other items in life by making equal parts. Detailed Teaching Sequence: (Provide sufficient detail that would enable a substitute to effectively present this lesson. Bulleted statements are preferred)

Show Prezi to students Explain that they will be picking picture of items that can be divided into at least 2 equal parts Hand out pictures to each group of students Provide students with an example of an item that can be divided into 2 equal parts and place it into the bag Tell students that they can work together to complete the assignment

Guided Practice/Independent Practice/Assessment Activities Closure: I will collect the worksheets and review the items that can be divided and cannot be divided equally. I will pass out a worksheet that has different picture on it of everyday items. I will then tell the students to circle things that can be divided into equal parts and put an X on the items that cannot be divided equally.
