Joint Venture

In March 2009, BHEL entered into an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bharat Electronics Ltd for exploring the possibility of setting up a Joint Venture Company in India to address the solar photo-voltaic business.

In September 2009, Maharishi Solar entered into an agreement with the Industrial (IST) division of Abengoa Solar Inc. as a part of the agreement, Abengoa is expected to support Maharishi Solar through technology transfers, train the company's staff for design installation, and the operation of various industrial ventures.

In April 2007, Moser Baer Photo Voltaic (MBPV), a wholly owned subsidiary of Moser Baer India Ltd, acquired 40% equity in Slovenia-based Solarvalue Proizvodnja. The company has a minority stake in Stion Corporation, a nanostructures development company based in the Silicon Valley, California, for producing extremely low-cost solar power generating surfaces. It has a alliance with Skyline Solar, a manufacturer of High Gain Solar (HGS) arrays. The company also has an agreement with Solfocus, which gives it the distribution rights of SolFocus' CPV panels in India and neighboring countries.
