Graduate Intern Announcement

Rio Hondo College Foundation (RHCF) is currently seeking a graduate student intern to assist in the development of the Foundations scholarship program. Description The Rio Hondo College Foundation was incorporated in 1992 as a nonprofit organization to support Rio Hondo College. The Foundation's mission is to secure financial assistance for scholarships, programs, equipment, and projects which meet the needs of the College's growing student population. The Foundation staff pursues contributions from individuals, corporations, and the nonprofit sector to create meaningful funding opportunities to assist the College in meeting its commitment to educational excellence and access. Scholarships are a major component of the Foundations activities. With over 118 scholarship funds, students receive awards which help them reach their education goals at Rio Hondo College. The graduate student intern will work closely with the Executive Director of the RHCF, Director of Financial Aid and the President of Rio Hondo College to assist in a full restructuring of the program. Duties Intern will assist in the design and development of a new scholarship program that will support a community of scholars at Rio Hondo College. This project will include, but is not limited to, establishing a timeline, policies & procedures regarding the outreach and application process, reporting system, and donor relation stewardship plans. The goal of the program is to provide meaningful scholarship opportunities for students through an effective outreach and application progress, decrease the current scholarship processing time, and improve communication and coordination between students, donors, and campus departments. Applicants for this position should have an interest in providing superior student services, be able to work independently in a fast pace environment and meet deadlines.
