This is a poem to my grandmother who's gentle laughter carried me through life and who's crazy sense of humor pulled me from the darkest times. The smell of pancakes and bacon that woke me from my sleep, followed by the scratching of your hair were the high points of my days spent with you. Intense vulgarity during the Clippers game sounded so strange, yet, comical coming from the mouth of such a delicate little body. Your demeanor, they say, was transferred to me in such an incredible way. I try to love as you loved, without judgment and with kindness. I try to react how you reacted, with such calm and understanding, for your were the epitome of unconditional love. Your liveliness and incessant flatulence is why I cried when you died, for I could not comprehend why you had been taken from me. But now as I write this poem to you, I say a tearful goodbye and a heartfelt, I love you, for you are always and forever in my heart.
