Application Processing
The admissions office will begin processing your application immediately after the deadline. Once your application has been processed, you will receive a username and password to our SPARKS portal . These credentials come to the same email address you used for your application and could arrive several weeks after the deadline. Please be patient. SPARKS will be your homepage for all applicant information and current application status. As soon as you receive your username and password, login to SPARKS to view your application status.
Application INCOMPLETE
Applications are incomplete if they are missing any application items, if your transcripts are difficult to read or not translated, or if your application fee has not been received. Log in to SPARKS to see what materials are missing and submit them via mail or email to appstatus@hks.harvard.edu as soon as possible. SPARKS is the most up-to-date source of information on your application. There may be some lag time between when we receive your materials and when we update your status. Application COMPLETE
All your application materials have been compiled, and your application is ready to be read by the committee. No further action is required.
Admissions Decisions
Your admissions decision will arrive via email by the end of March. You will receive your decision email at the same email address you used for your application. Admissions decisions will NOT be posted on SPARKS.
Admitted
Fill out your online response form on SPARK. Deferral requests must be submitted via the online response form in SPARKS. Enrollment information will appear under the New Admit tab on SPARKS. Financial Aid decisions arrive within a week of admission.
Waitlisted
Waitlisted students will receive an email regarding your waitlist status in mid to late May, when we have a better idea of your prospects.
Not Admitted
Due to the high volume of applications we receive, we are unable to provide feedback on your application. If you choose to reapply, we will hold your application materials for 3 years. You must begin a new application, but can reuse your supporting documents in the event of reapplication.
