1. Feasibility study Purpose of study: To assess the feasibility and viability of installing Coal Fired Power Plant.

Phase 1: Involves a coal sourcing study which will define the quality and actual quantity of coal needed for the sustainable operation of the Power Plant. Phase 2: Identification and selection of a site for the proposed Coal Plant. a) Topographic survey of site b) Fuel supply linkage to site c) Availability & Quality of water d) Rail/road connectivity e) Environmental aspects Phase 3: Conceptual design of the selected option involving unit size determination, power scheme layout and selection of transmission voltage and routing of the transmission line. a) Technical aspects of main power plant equipments b) Evacuation of power Phase 4: Economics of the proposed scheme and financial analysis and determine the financing requirements of the project. a) Estimates of projects financials b) Assessment of policies & regulations c) Availability of capital, subisidies Outcome: The Consultant will be expected to prepare a Project Definition Document.
