Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself.

It seems like yesterday when I first walked into this building. Trembling, nervous yet excited on what college brings. Now, were here again, not as students, but proud successful alumni of Northeastern College, Nursing Department. We were all flattered to see again our former classmates. Our instructors have become our colleagues as well. How life changed as time passed by. But its great, its fantastic. An alumnus (plural alumni),is "a graduate of a school, college, or university. An alumnus can also be a former member, employee, contributor or inmate as well as a former student. In addition, an alumna (pl. alumnae) is "a female graduate or former student of a school, college, or university". If a group includes both genders, even if there is only one male, the plural form alumni is used. On October 22, 2011 in connection with the celebration of Northeastern Colleges 70th Founding Anniversary, the Nursing Department also held its 1st Alumni General Meeting. Ms. Maria Luisa Y. Valencia, RN,RM,MSN, the Officer in Charge of the Nursing Department spearheaded the activity. Alumnus from the different batches came. The activities were as follows. After the grand parade which they gladly joined, they eagerly watched the much awaited street dance competition. Then, the Nursing Department held its 1 st Alumni General Meeting at the Skills Lab, Science Building, Northeastern College, Santiago City. Ms. Marissa Fernandez, RN,MAN, a clinical instructor assisted in the election of officers. They were also asked to fill up the alumni form which will served as the database of the organization. About 43 alumni attended the activity. All graduates of the Nursing Department are all asked to be part of its Alumni program. Why? It does not only keep a track record of its graduates, but will be a group of timeless love, commitment and camaraderie that started in college.
