English Proposal I plan to write my paper on the 2012 frenzy. The story will mainly focus on what happens and how people react as the year approaches an end and the time gets closer to the infamous 12/21/12. It will take place sometime in the near future, most likely sometime close to December. I plan on writing about how insane people will get. The point of writing this paper on the Hollywood "Mayan apocalypse" is to establish what really was predicted by the ancient civilization of the Mayans and what has been over exaggerated by Hollywood to make blockbuster films. The main character will most likely be male, in his late teens. I want the story to be either action packed or comedic. I was thinking about somehow having the main character either go back in time to talk with the people of the ancient civilization to separate the predictions from the fantasy.
