TENNIS SCORING

ONE Match = best of three sets (Pros usually play best of five sets) ONE Set = first player to six (6) games by a two game margin

EACH NEW GAME MUST START ON THE DEUCE or FOREHAND (Right) SIDE OF THE COURT AS YOU FACE THE NET
ONE Game = a total of six (6) points of which only four (4) points are kept. Every odd game, players will switch ENDS of court. (Sometimes when playing indoors, players will switch at end of each set only) POINTS are as follows: Love is the same as 0; 15 (sometimes players will only say 5); 30; 40 Deuce is the same as 40-40; Advantage (IN or OUT) comes after the DEUCE point. When you hear the server say, "AD in" this means the SERVER has one point advantage against the RECEIVER. If you hear the server say, "AD out" this means the RECEIVER has the one point advantage against the SERVER. (To win the game, one of the players has to win TWO points in a row in the Deuce/AD situation.) SERVER SHOULD ALWAYS CALL THE SCORE PRIOR TO EACH FIRST SERVE OF EACH GAMETHE "Server's" SCORE IS ALWAYS SAID FIRST
This will tell anyone wanting to know the score who is winning ALWAYS start the game at Love, Love (0-0) and on the DEUCE side of the court (also known as the FOREHAND side). You MUST always serve diagonally. RECEIVER
