On August 23, 2011, family, friends, and the grateful community of Duxbury lost a True American Hero when U.S. Army 1st Lieutenant Timothy J. Steele gave his life in combat while serving his beloved county in Afghanistan. Tim was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division out of Fort Drum N.Y. He was a 2009 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point. Tims military awards and recognitions are numerous and distinguished. Tim was a member of Duxbury High Schools Class of 2004 where he excelled as both a student and athlete, but most impressively as a role model and leader for those around him. He was president of his senior class and captain of the track team where he carried the Stars and Stripes in his last track meet as a sign of his commitment and love for his country. Those serving under Lt. Steele in the U.S. Army remember him as a born leader whose command they followed with unquestioned loyalty and respect. Throughout his life Tim maintained an enduring commitment to his Catholic Faith. From the time he was a young altar boy to his service as a Third Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus, in his humble and unassuming way, he was always there to serve God and provide for the needs of others, just as he did in serving his country. Please join family, friends, and others in paying tribute to Tim as the Holy Family Knights of Columbus in cooperation with the Holy Family Womens Club sponsors The Lieutenant Timothy Steele Memorial Golf Tournament on Saturday, May 12th. The tournament and reception that follows will be hosted through the generosity of the Duxbury Yacht Club and Holy Family Parish. We feel it to be extremely important to preserve the memory and accomplishments of Lieutenant Steele, who like_too_many_before_him,_made_the_ultimate_sacrifice_for_his_country.__Your_support_ for this event will send a lasting message to Tims wife Meaghan, daughter Liberty Hope, parents Jack and Maryellen, siblings, and to other loved ones that Lieutenant Tim Steele will never be forgotten by the residents of Duxbury. Whether you had the honor to personally know Tim and his loving family or like many of us who have since learned of his character and strength, we invite and encourage you to support this worthy cause. One-hundred percent of net proceeds shall be distributed to the Steele Family in preserving the legacy of Lieutenant Timothy J. Steele. Donations and Auction: Donations for auction are very much appreciated (see attached registration) Dress Code: Proper golf attire required. Shirts must have collar and shorts must be Bermuda length. Tank-tops, T-shirts and denim are not permitted. Spikeless Policy: Metal spikes are not permitted.

Directions
Take Route 3 to Route 3A, Exit 10 (South Duxbury). Travel North on 3A (Tremont Street) for approximately three miles to Harrison Street on right. Golf course is approximately mile on right. Turn right onto Fairway Lane and proceed to club house.
