    Quantum mechanics is the branch of physics providing a mathematical description of the dual particle like & wave like behavior & interaction of matter & energy.It mainly incorporates four classes of phenomena which are quantization of certain physical properties ,wave particle duality,uncertainty principle &Quantum entanglement.Schrodingers equation is the fundamental equation of quantum mechanics. Quantum mechanics has illustrated many features of our world.It has given insight into the working of many biological systems including smell receptors & protein structures.Many modern technologies like laser,electron microscope & MRI incorporates it. Presently the ongoing research topics are quantum cryptography, computers & teleportation.some important eqation are as follows: 1.E=hv 2.step potential V(x)=0 V(0 ) x<0 x>=0
