Unit 2: Urban Environment Project

Task: To develop a plan for redevelopment of a building or part of a neighborhood in the area you live. Why?: Urban change creates both challenges and opportunities. In developing countries urban growth can be a stimulus for economic development, but at the same time creates social and environmental challenges. In developed countries the need for urban regeneration is providing opportunities to modernise and reimage declining urban areas.

Your project MUST Include: - A picture of the building or neighborhood you wish to redevelop. - What, if anything, the building or area is being used for currently. - A detailed plan of what you would include in the renovation of the building. - Reasons this would reduce depravation and improve the quality of life in the neighborhood - Map of the area with your redevelopment site marked on it (make sure to have a map key). - Create a list of websites you used for resources (include the site you got your map from). This can be made in a number of ways: - Powerpoint - Filmed commercial - Written proposal - Have an idea? Ask your teacher.
