2 Using the Node-Voltage Method


Use the node-voltage method of circuit analysis to find the branch currents in the circuit shown

Determine the number of essential nodes


There are two essential nodes. Thus there will be one node-voltage equation. Identify the nodes as ground and 1.

Identify the currents out of the node(s)

Write the node-voltage equation and solve for v1.

Solve for the branch currents +40V

Find the power associated with each source, and state whether the source is delivering power or absorbing power.
