Robert Youssef, Mayor Hemet City Council City of Hemet 445 E. Florida Ave. Hemet, CA 92543 Dear Mayor Youssef: I am writing to share the Hemet Unified School District Governing Boards request that the City consider formally marking a crosswalk at a midway point on Mustang Way. This is the site where three West Vafley High School students were hit by a car on February 27, 2012. Unfortunately, that incident was not the first time a student was hit by a car in this area. Students and citizens tend to cross the street there because the sidewalks and curbs on both sides of the street dip into handicapped accessible ramps and make it appear that there is a crosswalk at that point. Our concern is for the safety of our students and the citizens who drive and walk in this area. Thank you for your consideration and please dont hesitate to contact me at 951-659-2669 or Dr. Lowder at 951-765-5100 ext. 1000 should you have questions. Regacds,
