RC Aircraft Maintenance, FAQs, Dos and Donts Take-off is optional, but Landing is Mandatory!

1) Know your plane: You should always know what your plane is capable of and should stick to the limits. Never risk your plane by trying to do something which it is not capable of doing. 2) Check all parts before take-off especially the control surfaces. 3) Check your batteries before Take Off. 4) Check your transmitter range and make sure you fly within the range. 5) Ensure that your planes CG is where it is supposed to be Adjust the position of battery to vary the center of gravity of your aircraft. 6) Check all servos and control rods before take-off. 7) Use correct propeller that suits the engine/ motor. 8) Take-off against the wind. 9) Use good quality transmitter. A bad transmitter can destroy even the best RC plane by malfunctioning for a split-second. 10) Fly in a good ground, with lot of open space. Never fly near buildings, trees, electric poles/ wires. 11) Check for transmitters in the same area with same frequency as yours. 12) Know how much wind-resistant your plane is. Never fly in windy conditions. 13) Never fly near radio stations, cell phone towers etc. As there might be an interference with your Radio signal. 14) Never fly the plane on top of audience. Never fly it towards the audience. A plane should always fly in front of the audience from left to right or right to left. 15) If the plane goes out of control, immediately cut off the motor to decrease the speed and minimize the damage to your plane. Pull the elevator if you see the plane going into a dive. 16) Always fly the plane ahead of you and within the range of your sight. Never allow it to go behind you. 17) Mark one of the wings on the lower side to help you recognize the direction of flight. When in doubt, dont fly!
