1. A solid block of thermal capacity Cth is being heated with an electric resistance heater. The input voltage Vin(t) is provided to the heater, and the electrical resistance of the heater is Rel. Initially, both the solid block and the environment is at temperature T0, and the thermal resistance between the solid block and the environment is Rth. The temperature within the solid block is assumed to be uniform. a) Determine the differential equation(s) that define the system. Choose your variables as Vin(t) and T(t) (the deviation in solid block temperature from T0). b) Linearize the differential equation around V0, T0 (i.e., choose your operating point as (V0, T0)).
