a highly intoxicated person illegally in this country, illegally tresspassing and partying at the top of the stairs, takes a tumble.. and someone needs to take the blame.. someone rich.. His family - not in court didn't care.. They got $$.. System, judge, prosecutor needs to make a name for themselves.. Casey Anthony murdered her baby and got nothing. Here is a nice man, rents to people that shouldn't be given the chance, takes an active role in community, free movies for children, and does more than most people.. He shouldn't have pleaded out-only thing he did wrong..

Key question is why did Superior Court Judge John Blawie screw fellow Republic Mayor Boughton. Both Republicans! Without watchful eye of DaSilva, CITY OF PRAISE will become old Harlem, NY. Blawie had problems with Madoff case going against loosers in matter at Stamford Superior Court. Jailbird Rowland nominated Blawie during his term and the plot thickens. WONDER WHO GETS WHO IN END???

How is it possible that you kill someone by your own aggressive actions and you only get 1.5 years? If the roles were reversed and the illegal killed the perb. would the illegal only get 1.5 years? Any balance with this type of justice? The scales seem tilted inappropriately.

@JoeVStheillegalzombies I cant stand many people more than Boughton. Not sure the correlation. I think Dasilva did what he needed to do and I'd do the same in his situation, even in the face of his conviction.

@Yeah - I didn't say that, but you did. This person did not deserve to die, however, they were trespassing on private property and if you are going to prosecute crime, you need to prosecute all crime, not just the ones you feel like.

Yeah yeah yeah, they were trespassing. The penalty for that isn't death. DaSilva lied about that day and acted with violence, instead of calling the police. He killed a husband and father. Legal, illegal, whatever, a man just the same. This is a slap on the wrist, and for Nolan or any other downtown person to defend him is a disgrace. If any of us did what he did, we would be going to prison for a longer time. He says he always tried to do positive things for Danbury, but only reopened the Palace and started programming there as a public relations ploy after his arrest. He has a known reputation as a slum lord. You are only as good as your lowliest act. That makes him pretty low.
