Treatment of sewage water :

1. Primary Treatment 2. Secondary Treatment 3. Tertiary Treatment

PRIMARY TREATMENT :
It is being taken
place in three steps:
1. Coarse screen chamber (>50 mm)
2. Fine screen chamber (>10mm & >0.6mm) 3. Detroiter ( >0.2 mm)

DETROITER

SECONDARY TREATMENT :
1.Aerators:
Fine air bubble diffusers
14 hours Detention Time 94 - 97% Efficiency
Parameter
BOD(mg/lit) COD(mg/lit)

Inlet
300-500 700-1200

Outlet
30 250

AERATORS

2. CLARIFIER:
Impurities gets settle down by gravity force
Two Scrappers( One at top & another at bottom) Collected sludge is of 1% consistency Treated water goes to Tertiary Treatment Plant (TTP) & Sludge goes to THICKNER

CLARIFIER

3. THICKNER:
It has Greater depth in the ground.

Sludge enters at the middle part & forced out due to excess overburden pressure of settled sludge.
Some Part of sludge goes to the aerators to increase efficiency of aeration.

Increase consistency of sludge up to 3%

THICKNER

4. DIGESTORS:
There are 4 DIGESTOR tanks in series, working step by step Each tank has surface aerator

Consistency of outlet sludge is 4-6% From DIGESTORS, sludge is collected into SLUDGE STORAGE TANK, from where it is pumped towards CENTRIFUGE ROOM.

SLUDGE PUMP HOUSE

5. CENTRIFUGE ROOM :
Polyelectrolyte is used to form micelles of solids Due to centrifugal force impurities gets collected on the surface & water moves out from centre. This water is again sent to AERATORS Consistency of sludge at outlet is 22-24% ,so it can be used as manure
