SARATOGA,Calif.MontalvoArtsCenter invitesthecommunitytoenjoyARTS SPLASH!,adynamicopenhouseand studentartsshowcaseonSaturday,April 21,from11a.m.to4p.m.Admissionis freetothefestivalfilledwithfun,food, andartforallages.Highlightswill includelivemusicandperformancesbytalentedlocalstudents,handsonartprojects,livemusic, toursofthegroundsandhistoricVilla,andtheuniqueopportunitytovisittheopenstudiosof MontalvosLucasArtistsResidencyProgram.Freeparkingandshuttleservicewillbeprovided fromWestValleyCollegeallday;limited parkingat$10percarwillbeavailableonsite. ARTSSPLASH!2012alsoservesasthekickoff forayearlongcelebrationofthecentennial anniversaryofthehistoricVillaMontalvo.To honorMontalvoandtheimportantroleithas playedintheculturallifeofSiliconValley,the SaratogaCityCouncilwillissueaspecial proclamationhonoringMontalvothatday.

StudentArtsFestivalandArtsWorkshopsforAllAges ThecenterpieceofARTSSPLASH!istheStudentArts Festival.MorethansevenhundredstudentsfromBay Areaschoolshaverespondedtothisyearsthemeof Celebrating100YearsoftheArtsbycontributing proposalsforworkinvariousartisticdisciplines.Atotal of18differentgroupssofarhavebeenselectedto showcasetheirvisualartprojectsonthegroundsof Montalvoandtoperformthroughoutthedayin MontalvosGardenTheatreandCarriageHouse
