Structure and Setting

By Liam Cranfield A footballer goes in for the challenge, showing his studs and making high contact. He receives a red card and walk off the pitch, the manager packs him on the back and feels sympathy for him. At the end of the game, in the dressing room, the manager deals with the player by talking to him and trying to convince him that it were an unlucky challenge. (Referee blows whistle for full time, the manager walks over to the referee)
MANAGER Oi ref, come on mate, what was that red card about aye!?(Shouting and puts his arm around him) REFEREE Sorry, but personally it was a high challenge and his studs were showing, I could not hesitate MANAGER (shakes his head) hes a young boy, and still learning REFEREE I dont care, still a terrible challenge and deserved a red card. He could have injured the opposing player MANAGER yeah I understand that, but he is a very committed player and he is not afraid of the game. Ill have a word with him in the dressing room.(Manager losing his temper) (The manager walks over to the dressing room, looking confused and disordered) MANAGER Right, you were unfortunate to receive a red card, and to be sent off. I felt for you as you walked off the pitch, as you made a huge part of the team. But now you have learnt your lesson. (Raising his voice but feels for the young boy) FOOTBALLER Yeah I understand the consequences of the game, I must be more careful next time.
